I had a need for this spoon when my son, Hunter, began self-feeding as a left handed toddler. He struggled with a regular teaspoon and was barely able to get food into his mouth. He would flip the spoon upside down for some reason, and all of the food would fall out of the bowl of the spoon before it made it to his mouth.

Most of the toddler spoons we found on the market had a bowl that would scoop enough food to feed a tiny bird, which only aggravated my child. There seemed to be nothing out on the market that would meet our needs. Our family members were even helping my husband and me try to find something that we could purchase for a left handed child, there was nothing.

That's when the design came up for the left handed spoon. After requests started coming in for the right handed spoon, we mirror imaged our design so we could supply an aid for right handed children as well.

I've spent years fine tuning Hunter's spoon. One day I was working on sketching the perfect handle for this spoon and the name "My Spoon" popped into my head; I still love it today!

I hope you know and love a child that enjoys "MySpoon" as much as our child has!
